Barbara Stanton presents The Fascinating Female Form at First Street Wine Company
Barbara loves painting small, but she also has a deep passion for drawing from life and studying the human form. She’s a facilitator of a figure drawing workshop in Livermore that meets every Friday morning. Barbara believes that drawing from life is the best way to improve drawing skills. To showcase the art of the nude, Barbara runs the annual “Essential Figure” art show held at the Bothwell Arts Center in Livermore, every spring.
Over the years, Barbara has amassed a huge body of figure drawings. If you’re interested in seeing more of her collection, you can also schedule an appointment with her. At first, Barbara used pastels (18”x24”), watercolor, and pen and ink. She will on occasion bring out her watercolors or oils still but now she mostly draws digitally with Procreate on her iPad. The nice thing about digital drawing is that you can print them on anything and in any size.

Ron Rigge Photographs at Berkshire Hathaway
Ron is a resident of Pleasanton, California and has been seriously producing fine art photographs since 1985. While his work covers diverse subject matter found in all of our Western states, he considers himself a photographer from and of California.
Representative bodies of work include the orchards of Central California, the Spanish missions and “Americana”, which includes relic autos, old beverage signs and many western ghost towns. He has also made a significant number of images of California landscapes, including those of the East Bay, the Wine country and the Eastern SierraNevada range.
His education in this field has primarily been in courses and field studies with master
Californian photographers such as Mark Citret, Al Weber, Steve Dzeregian, Brian Taylor and Robert Dawson. Ron is skilled at developing and printing his work in a conventional darkroom He has now made the transition to producing modern archival digital prints in both color
and black and white.
He has competed annually in several local and national juried shows and has received awards and recognition in these exhibits including the California State Fair’s “California Works”. His work has been exhibited in group shows in Yokohama, Japan and the Steinbeck Center in Salinas. His photographs can be found in many private collections including two of which are international. The California cities of Danville, Fairfield and Livermore have purchased pieces for their collections. His images can also be found in two books, “Images of Africa” and “New Mexico on my Mind”. He is a member of the Pleasanton Art League and serves on the board of the “Foundation for Photographic Preservation”. Photography will assuredly remain his life long pursuit.

Stefanie Sylvester is Showing at Ryan's Automotive
My abstract paintings are a visual record of synthesis—how we make meaning by connecting scattered bits of information. Forms and vignettes are built through layers of collage, paint, and mark making. The process is playful and open-ended, rooted in curiosity, experimentation, and resilience. I allow the work to unfold, discovering images and relationships rather than planning them.
I source collage materials from coloring books as a way to revisit my formative influences and honor the role of childhood creativity in my artistic journey. Coloring books were my point of entry into artmaking, as they are for many people. Because their visual language is so widely shared and familiar, they lend an accessibility to these abstractions. Fragments of these images remain visible in the finished work, like easter eggs, inviting views to look closely and connect personal memory with collective experience.
