Bio: Born in Illinois & presently residing in the beautiful Livermore Valley, Kathleen Hill’s first love, like so many young girls, was horses. Drawing them was her way of expressing that love. Her father’s work transferred the family to California and to one of the most horse populated counties in the state. She began working for a horse trainer and the love affair continued. It was at the barn that she learned about bone and muscle structure as well as the personalities of the horses.Her subject matter grew to include anything with fur or feathers. Whether she is doing a commission or a wildlife piece, she considers it her mission to capture the life essence of every animal she paints.

Bio: People fascinate me and their expressions captivate me. I sense personality and try to bring it forward, which is a development that photo-real images cannot capture. I confine my commission work to people and pets. I always begin with a favorite photo and build from there. My works are typically larger than 24" x 20",but I have worked as small as 12x16".
I am also considering developing a very interactive "tell-me-when-to stop" approach with clients. As image develops a client can put on the brakes, so to speak, and a portrait can be finished at an earlier point which would be more abstract, but more original, and of course cost less as less time would be involved. I'm considering pricing such pieces beginning at $350 (head and shoulders only) Also pieces that are only head and shoulders would be smaller and cost less than a "to the waist and holding something" approach.

Bio: Holly Vaughn is an artist from Pleasanton, CA, deeply inspired by her artistic mother and grandmother, who introduced her to the world of painting during her childhood through oil and watercolor lessons. After their passing, Holly rediscovered her passion for art, using it as a means of honoring their memory. She enjoys participating in art shows, vendor events and commissions to share her work with others. She has represented PNW artists spending time on the Board of Portland Art Guild prior to her recent move to the East Bay.
In addition to being a dedicated artist, Holly has a family of seven and retired from the corporate world in early childhood education. From her home studio, she teaches art to all age groups; preschoolers to seniors. Holly lets the surrounding environment inspire contemporary ealistic and abstract works.
