Robert Anke is an award winning painter born and raised in California. Represented by Studio Seven Arts, he’s lived everywhere from the southern reaches of the state to Humboldt County in the north. He’s spent the last thirty years in the Bay Area, the majority of it teaching art.
His love for the outdoors and the iconic landscapes we share is immediate and impactful. His degrees in Art and Sociology reveal themselves in the holistic, tender manner in which he depicts California’s people, sharing their humanity and humor. His work has garnered praise, from winning the prestigious, annual “Slopes of Diablo” contest, to being a salon finalist in Modern Impressionist Magazine.
His paintings embody our state: its sun-soaked beaches, rolling hills and oaks, its unique people, flora, and fauna. He executes this with an economy of stroke that speaks of the paint while clearly depicting the muse of his representations: our Golden State.
His is a body of work that is quintessentially Californian.
Come see home; it’s places and people…
Come see California, in paint.
