Tricia Grame
My inspirations are ancient images, they are the iconography for original art that honored the female, a reunion between art and life. As a painter, sculptor, educator and curator my work is about discovery, linking the past to the future in a continuing cycle of experiences and awareness. My research was done in Italy and Malta. Organic stone and the earth's pigments are my medium. I attempt to make my sculptures and paintings look like they have been excavated from the earth, baked and aged by the sun with hues of siena, umber, copper, red oxide and specks of silver and gold pigment. My sculptures consists of slate, granite, quartz, marble, etched copper, metals, crushed stone and terracotta. "Woman In Stone", series & "Where Did All The Girls Go", series.
