Prashanti Moses

San Ramon based artist working in Soft Pastels, Acrylics, Colored Pencils and Watercolors.

Born in the small industrial town of Bokaro Steel City, India, Prashanti Moses was drawn to creative pursuits at a very young age and spent much of her free time sketching, painting and exploring the outdoors. Although she pursued her Masters degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Delhi and worked with several Non-Profits, her creative spirit never faded.

She rediscovered her love for art at the age of thirty-eight when she walked into an art workshop in Bangalore, India. What followed was a deep desire to learn and hone her skills in art. WetCanvas and Artists Network served as the perfect platforms to learn from accomplished artists like Jackie Simmonds, Jerry Yarnell, Stephanie Birdsall and Deborah Secor to name a few. She also taught art to elementary-age children during this period.

After moving to the United States in 2013, she studied Early Childhood Education from UCLA Extension and worked as a Preschool Teacher for 6 years. Introducing children to the works of great artists and watching them create their own masterpieces was her favorite part of teaching.

Prashanti draws her inspiration from the beauty in God’s creation - the rolling hills, the lush meadows, the colours of fall, the blooming flowers and the chirping birds. To be able to capture some of that beauty on canvas gives her great joy. She loves travelling to different places around the world and creating new memories with her family. Many of her landscapes have been painted to preserve some of those memories. She also loves to create still life paintings using her treasured travel souvenirs. While soft pastels were the first medium that she fell in love with, she also loves to work in acrylics, watercolor and colored pencils.

Prashanti Moses is a member of the Alamo Danville Artists Society and the Pastel Society of the West Coast. Her works in acrylics and soft pastels were a part of Primavera, the spring exhibit of the Alamo Danville Artists Society in 2017. Her paintings have also featured in the quarterly magazines of the Pastel Society of the West Coast. She is also a member of Acrylic University where she is learning from acclaimed acrylic artists Jed Dorsey, Dianna Shyne and Brian Buckerell.

She lives in the beautiful city of San Ramon in California with her husband Moses, her daughter Shiphrah and their adorable labradoodle Frodo. For her, each painting is both a celebration of beauty and a way to share a little piece of her heart with the world.
