Hello! I am Shilpi Mittal, the owner & the artist behind "CanvasNook". Art has always been my passion; its a form of meditation and a way to express myself. I have spent years self-learning and exploring various forms of art. I am true to my name "Shilpi" - its a Hindi name which means "Artisan" or "Craftsman" :)

My journey of art began as a child in India, when I used to spent hours practicing sketching cartoons (My favourite was Tom & Jerry). Eventually, I started experimenting with clay, paper crafts, oil & Acrylic.

After I moved to United States, I spent a lot of time mastering Indian folks arts such as Madhubani, Worli, Gondh paintings from different parts of India. I started taking commission orders and operated from my small home studio. In the last 5 years, I have gotten really fond of abstract art as well as playing with different textures.

My work is inspired by my travels, and I love to experiment with different colors, techniques, and textures. I believe that art has the power to inspire and enrich our lives. I take great pride in my work, and I believe that art should be accessible to everyone. I'm grateful for the opportunity to share my passion with everyone!
