In a world of so much imagery I focus on the history and memory of everyday objects seen through the lens of my lived experience. I have a long history of making objects and tools from glass, clay, fabric and photography.  My chosen images for painting serve as an armature for current experience, memory and exploration of formal considerations.

For me, art is a process of call and response between imagination, materials, memory and the self. As I paint I become more aware of the changing nature, function and held memory of the subject matter and materials as we move through time together.

Painting allows me to explore ideas, memories and techniques of expression. Embedded in every work is the potential for the next piece. The process is often intuitive. It seeks to reimagine with wonder and possibilities the question of “What is this before me?”.
