A Visual and UX designer by profession, I started pursuing my passion for painting in parallel while getting a graphic design degree. Born and raised in Mumbai and Pune (India)—both culturally and historically rich cities, I had access to great art teachers, painting groups, and art galleries—creating a perfect motivational environment to explore and create. As a Pleasanton resident for over a year, I am enjoying the beautiful landscapes around the area that change with every season as well as the buildings in the historic downtown.

I love painting en plein air. It helps me become one with the surroundings and carve a distinct memory of the location. It is often a refreshing experience. I paint with watercolors, oils, and digital mediums.

My subjects range from traditional landscapes, portraits, and still life to calligraphy, illustrations, and travel sketches—a little bit of everything. Fine art lets me explore the lesser ‘bound’ side of design where I let myself explore without hesitation. I try to be less worried about the outcome and enjoy the process and challenge that medium and subject brings with it.

I have displayed my work in various group shows back in India and a few galleries in the east bay, CA and now looking forward to being a part of the artist community here in Tri-valley.
