Art Classes at the Bothwell Arts Center, 2466 Eighth St. Livermore, CA.
Children's Art Class (Class is full and there is a waiting list)
Group class on Fri. afternoons from 3:30 - 5:00 (ages 8-14).
The classes are ongoing. There is no beginning or ending to learning about creating art. Students start off with basic drawing skills like shading and technique. We draw from life at first. The longer the student stays the more they get to do. Students learn about pencil, pen & ink, scratch board, pastels, color pencils, and watercolors. Eventually oils are introduced if they are interested.
The price for a month is $90.
Teen/Adult Art Class (Class is full and there is a waiting list)
Fri. evening class (12 & up) 6:00 -9:00 PM. This is the teen / adult class. This class helps the more mature students with their personal goals. Students generally work on more advanced projects but beginners are welcome.
The price for the evening class is $120. per month.
Figure Drawing Workshop (no instructor)
Open to all artists over 18. Under 18 with parental permission in writing. Drop-ins are welcome!
We get our models through the Bay Area Models Guild: http://www.bayareamodelsguild.org/ Models pose mostly nude, but sometimes with costumes or props. We average about 4 females to 1 male. All different body types and ages.
What: We start off with gestures, then two 10 min. poses, then 20 min. poses unless we love it and we have the model do it again. We do gestures and then one long pose on the last Fri. of the month. No instructor. Tables, chairs, drawing boards and table easels are provided. Bring your own standing easel and drawing/painting materials. Only odorless turpenoid please. Soft music played. Refreshments are served.
When: Most every Friday Morning - 9:30 - 12:30
Where: Bothwell Arts Center, 2466 Eighth St., Livermore, Ca., 94550 (usually in the West End of the building.)
