What is the Downtown Livermore Art Stroll

The Downtown Livermore Art Stroll is all about making the visual arts more visible in Livermore’s Cultural Art District.

The Downtown Livermore Art Stroll came about as a collaborative effort of local Tri-Valley artists from both the Bothwell Arts Center and the Livermore Art Association.  Downtown Livermore businesses that support the local arts by displaying the work of local artists on the walls of their establishments get credit, literally, on the map

At first glance, downtown Livermore appears bereft of art produced by local artists.   In fact, it is alive with the visual arts, which are hidden gems of the Livermore Art District.  The art stroll not only shines a light on these gems through its easy to download map, but has a page of what artists are displaying work where and a call out for the businesses helping the visual arts in the community.

Some of the local businesses work directly with artists and set up their own shows.  Other businesses work with a curator, an established artist familiar with the local arts, who helps locate art that fits the taste and environment of the business owner and their business.  If you are a downtown Livermore business owner who currently supports the local arts by giving rotating displays of the work of local artists or are a business owner who would like to contribute wall space to this effort, then send email to Carol Faber-Peake at clfaber@comcast.net.

Not only are downtown businesses listed on the map, but also the Bothwell Downtown Art Studio, a community of artists who share studio space and have periodic open houses and the LAA Gallery, which is sponsored by the Livermore Art Association and is the only art visual arts gallery in downtown Livermore.

If you are an artist, and want to put your work on the map, visit our call for artist page.
